Complete your Internship with GVAHEC this Spring Semester!

Calling all Health Professional Students looking for an internship in a community based environment!

We have worked with students from the following fields: Public Health, Dietetics, Health and Wellness, Exercise Science, Health Promotions, Health Education, Health Policy and Social Work on graduate and undergraduate levels.

We offer Flexible hours, Stipends and Convenient Locations.

You will Experience:

  • Professional development: Work with preceptors and community partners in a professional environment
  • Application of theory: Integrate and implement skills learned in your program
  • Health education: Develop health and wellness education curriculum and deliver classes to various populations
    within the community
  • Interdisciplinary Teams: Opportunities to work in a team environment with students from a variety of health
    profession disciplines

GVAHEC believes that students can have a quality learning experience when working as interdisciplinary teams within underserved communities. In our community health education centers, students assess, identify, develop, and deliver community health education programs and assist community members by linking them to services in the area. In addition, our community health education centers offer other services to the community in which students can observe or participate.

There are currently two community health education sites in the GVAHEC area. One in Apache Junction and the other located in Northern Phoenix. Students can also be placed with key partners in the GVAHEC region to have additional experiences with specific populations or with other public health activities such as advocacy
