2017 Zika Tabletop Exercise @ The Property Conference Center
Jun 28 @ 8:00 am – 3:30 pm

The structure of this educational event will be in a tabletop exercise format. This format provides opportunity for a low-stress discussion that tests and evaluates the effective coordination between healthcare providers and the local public health department. In order to be prepared for and help prevent local transmission of Zika Virus, providers must adhere to the testing and reporting algorithms that exist at the local and state health department levels. Healthcare providers need to communicate specific messaging to suspect cases in order to prevent local transmission. During this tabletop, participants will be provided with an escalating scenario and answer questions on how they would handle suspect cases. The tabletop will begin with informational topics to assist them with the scenario. Expected outcomes include provider education and adherence/compliance to local and state public health algorithms and procedures for handling suspected vector borne disease cases.
